I really don’t know the answer to that. That level of physics goes way beyond my abilities. Hopefully Susan or Dilwar will be able to help you.

Wow delaram – you are really testing my brain today 😉
The short answer is, I really don’t know either! But opinion on this is split even between experts in the field.

The parallel universes theory was invented as a possible solution to the Schrodinger cat paradox (you might want to check out the answer to another question about this – /iodinen13-zone/2013/11/16/can-you-simply-explain-the-theoryparadox-of-schrodingers-cat/).

Even amongst the scientists who believe that parallel universes exist, there are many different theories of how these might behave. For example, some people think that there have always been a set number of universes, while other people think that our universe branches off into multiple universes all the time.

Personally I quite like this theory, because it means that for everything that happens, everything else that could also have happened but didn’t, actually did but in a different universe. For example, if I’m trying to decide between having pizza or spaghetti for dinner, I can choose spaghetti, but I don’t have to be sad that I didn’t choose pizza, because I’m enjoying that pizza in another universe!

But I have no idea whether this is really what happens or not! So far the parallel universes have just arisen out of theoretical calculations and we have no proof whether or not they do exist. However, scientists have recently discovered what they think might be the first evidence that multiple universes do exist, but we’ll need to wait for some more data to know for sure!

That’s a good question and a complicated one too. When you look at the maths (to which is equally mind-boggling and complicated) it seems to fit nicely, a bit like string theory. But there is no evidence to suggest there are parallel universes or multi-verses. I’m slightly sceptical on this one.
