      Hi zombietutrtlgeorgi!

      Hmm, difficult question!
I like to think that my experiments are thorough and careful, and that my results are reliable. Having said that, I still make mistakes! I’m still quite young though and still have a lot to learn! I hope that as I get more experienced I will learn to be a better scientist – there is always room for improvement!

The main thing I want to learn how to do, is to learn to ask better questions! A trained monkey could do many science experiments, but a really great scientist will find the interesting new places to look for new science, even when no-one thought of looking there before! My boss is really good at thinking of new questions, and I am trying to learn this skill and intuition from him!

So to summarise, I think I can definitely be a much better scientist, and I’m always looking for ways to try to improve!

That is a very tricky question to answer without seeming to boast. I am proud of some of the experiments that I have done and very satisfied that by taking the care to focus on small details and making sure that I have done things thoroughly and using the best methods, I have produced some important work that has influenced lots of other scientists in what they do. Some other work has been not so good and I have made mistakes. Even as adults we are all learning all the time, and when we make errors we learn a lot from the process and get better for next time.

I don’t know if I am a good scientist from all the experiments I have done, but I’d say I was good at making experiments work! There has been so many times where new (and old!) experiments have stopped work or haven’t worked. I have been able to work out why and fix it (in most cases!) which is a valuble skill! I wouldn’t say it makes me a good scientist though as most can do this I imagine!
