• Question: I've heard there are cancers linked to oestrogen and I've heard that oestrogen controls our emotional well-being. Is it possible that cancer develops from being happy.....?

What a great question! You have really thought about this!

Oestrogen is a hormone in our body, and is responsible for reproduction in females (like testosterone is in males). It is also responsible for bone growth, fat storage and other important things!
Some breast cancers rely on oestrogen to grow, and these are treated using hormone therapy (anti-oestrogens).
I would say that being happy has nothing to do with oestrogen itself, but that if we didn’t have any we might be unhappy because we wouldn’t be really healthy!
Being happy releases neurotransmitters such as dopomine, melatonin and oxytocin. So carry on being happy!
