I started to get interested in science when I was about 14. Before that I was much more interested in music, art and english.
I first started to get interested in astronomy and space when I read some science fiction books.
I also had a very good physics teacher at school who really made science come alive!

Until I went to secondary school I hated science. I just didn’t get it and found it boring. I preferred history and English. Then in year 7 I had a brilliant science teacher and we got to go into laboratories and do experiments with chemicals and learn biology. The light bulb went on in my head and there was no turning back. Science became my passion and it still is.

I can’t remember exactly when I got interested in science. I definitely enjoyed doing experiments from when I was very young. I remember when I was just 5 or 6 years old we got a big tub of water and put objects in to see if they would sink or float – a good experiment for a 5 year old!!!! I think most of my interest is about how people (and animals) work. I’ve wondered that for as long as I can remember : )
